10 Pro Wedding Party Tips

Each year, On The Beat Fx helps newly engaged couples plan the biggest and most important celebration of their lives. After a ton of successful weddings we’ve picked up on a few things worth sharing.

#1 Bey Status

You’re going to have a Beyoncé star-level effect on people. That means your guests are going to be where you are. If you’re on the dance floor, so will they!

#2 A Show About Nothing

If you don’t have an exact timeline yet (or ever), don’t worry. Your DJ and/or wedding planner will have done enough weddings to know when things should stat and end. Just focus on the start and end times on the major things like the ceremony aisle walk down, cocktail hour, and dinner.

#3 Can you hear me now?

Consider sitting people sensitive to loud noises farther from the speakers. They’ll be grateful and more comfortable.

#4 It’s Getting Pretty Serious in the Back

Try not to put the DJ in an obscure location or corner. The closer the DJ is to the dance floor, the better they will be able to connect with the crowd and read the audience.

#5 I Wear My Sunglasses at Night

Darker is better! Consider dimming the lights during or slightly after dinner. People will feel more comfortable dancing and drinking when the dance floor isn’t lit like a hospital.

#6 Say Forever and Ever 💑

To keep the energy of the night all in one spot, consider having the Photo Booth and any other activities as close to the dance floor / main room as possible.

#7 Oh, this is my jam!

When picking your songs for your event, take into account not only your taste, but the taste of your guests as well.

#8 Another Round Please

Leaving your guests wanting more is a sure way for your wedding to be the hot topic during conversation. One way to accomplish this is to keep it a perfect length. We’ve found 4-hour receptions to be the sweet spot.

#9 This One’s on Us

No need to worry about building your entire playlist for the night. Give your DJ a few songs (10-20) and they’ll be able to fill in the rest!

#10 Last Call

People will remember two things about your wedding: 1 - How good the food was 2 - If the DJ rocked it! And also whatever makes your wedding look like the 4th of July.
